New Executive for Exciting New Year!

At a very well attended AGM on the 27th April 2012 the FGC Forum (NI) shared a review of the previous year and plans for the forthcoming year.  Jen Simpson (out going Chair) acknowledged the key achievements of the Forum and its Subgroups including development of Resource Materials, new Accredited Training Programme for FGC Co–ordinators, Young Persons Page on the website and a successful lobbying campaign with Policy Makers and Politicians.  Mena Wilson (FGC Forum (NI) Organiser) shared the thinking for the coming year which includes achievement of charity status and a focus on securing ongoing funding.

UPCOMING EVENTS...

‘Legal Context for Family Group Conferencing’ Thursday 7th June 2012 – 9:30am to 12:30pm, Laburnum Suite 2, Dunsilly Hotel. Antrim, facilitated by Grainne Keanne, Youth Justice Agency and Stewart Whyte NHSCT.  At the end of the workshop participants will have a better understanding of where family group conferencing fits in both welfare and youth justice legislation.

‘Early Intervention and Family Group Conferencing’ 26th September 2012, 9:30am to 12:30pm, venue tba, facilitated by Paul Kellagher, Action for Children.  This workshop will explore the use of family group conferencing in the context of early intervention work with families and children.  It will examine both challenges and learning from practice.
